Interior Ministry has sought cabinet approval to appoint 24 new provincial governors to replace retiring officials and move three governors to new provinces. A total of 24 deputy governors are promoted to head their respective provincial administrations, and three others are appointed to the position of inspector general at the ministry. Three provincial governors have been transferred. They are Suchin Chaichumsak, governor of Nakhon Nayok, who moves to Ayutthaya; Chokchai Detamornthan, from Mahasarkham to Phuket; and Suwat Promsuwan, from Nan to Lampang. The 30 appointments will become effective on Oct 1, if approved.
